Consistency: What Works for YOU!

Ok, so last time, we chatted about the roller coaster of a 30-day fitness challenge and how frustrating it can be when you don't follow through with the challenge. I might have gotten over dramatic, but I just speak from so much experience! LOL


Today, let’s talk about finding your groove and not be so dramatic and get onto an important subject when it comes to trying out any sort of program, challenge, or whatevs your are doing to improve your fitness and wellness. Let's talk about creating a routine that makes you want to jump out of bed (or at least not hit snooze five times). It's about discovering YOUR unique path to consistency.

Why Consistency Matters


Consistency has been my secret sauce that makes everything flow like maple syrup pouring onto my "healthy" (wink wink) pancakes. It’s about showing up regularly and making a pact with yourself. A pact where you pinky swear, but pinky yourself (ya I know sounds weird but just go with it HA!). Consistency helps build habits, shows progress, boosts motivation, and creates a positive mindset.


Finding YOUR Consistency


The magic happens when you find what works for you. What's your jam? What makes you look forward to your fitness and self-care? Here are some things to ponder:


1. Accountability Partner


Do you need someone to guilt-trip you into working out? LOL! Having a workout buddy or a spa buddy (even better) or joining a fitness community, like the Thrive Tribe, can make a huge difference. When you've got someone to share the pain, it's easier to stay on track and push through the tough days.


2. Set Times and Days


Are you a creature of habit? Setting specific times and days for your workouts and self-care regimen can help you stay consistent. When fitness and self-care becomes a part of your schedule, it's like brushing your teeth—just less minty.


3. Find What You Enjoy


What makes your heart sing? If you love what you’re doing, you’re more likely to stick with it. Whether it’s dancing, hiking, yoga, or weightlifting, massages find something that excites you and makes you feel like an accomplishing superstar.


4. Flexibility and Adaptability


Life throws curveballs, and sometimes your plans get knocked out of the park. Being flexible and adaptable is key. Consistency doesn’t mean rigidly sticking to a plan no matter what; it means being persistent and finding ways to keep going, even when things change. I can attest to this because my schedule is forever changing and I gotta think fast sometimes.

So, what’s it going to take to stay consistent? It’s a personal journey, and what works for me may not work for you. But the beauty of experimentation is, well? experimentation! The key is to find what fits your life but also what fits YOU meaning your body, mind, and spirit. What keeps YOU motivated, and makes YOU happy. Ask yourself:

- Do I need to set specific times and days for my workouts?

- What activities do I enjoy?

- How can I stay flexible and adapt to changes?


Finding your consistency is like finding the right shoe that isn't going to squish your toes or give you blisters. It's is about discovering what makes you tick and creating a routine that feels right for you. It’s not about following someone else’s plan; it’s about crafting your own path to success in your fitness and well-being journey.


Remember, consistency is the secret sauce to fitness and well-being success. It’s not about perfection; it’s about persistence. Keep experimenting, keep reflecting, and most importantly, keep showing up for yourself. 🌟
